Great job on your B9. Just wondering if you still had the damaged torso? If so, would you be willing to part with it?

Hi Jerry, I am a B9 fan living in Scotland UK. A full size robot is beyond me financially but I wish very much to make a scale model. Please could you advise me wich out of all the blueprints I have seen are the most accurate?

Sincerely

Watch the show when i was a kid in brooklyn N.Y I really thought
it was a real robot, specially when they took the bubble head off
on the show, I was total confused and wanted a robot just like the one on the series. I kept telling my dad it was real a real robot
and back them he just laugh and said no son theirs a man operating it from the inside. I still didnt believe it so they did a fine job fooling everyone. It was one of my favorite shows of all time
 thanks for the memories.

I was fortunate enough to find a set of these at an online electronics surplus company. I compared the buttons to the set Craig sells and find that the thin white diffuser is identical to the front of the switch button, and the colored inscribed button is near identical to the inner portion of the buttons on these, just a hair narrower. To make use of them would be easy and could be done a couple of ways, first to simply glue Craig's buttons with or without diffusers to these button fronts and adjust depth with a baker plate, or and I'm still thinking about this since I just got my set today, would be to make acrylic parts like the inner portion of the buttons in clear acrylic and include Craig's diffuser, or make inner portions in clear or white and not include the diffuser. It might be worth trying one button first before making all of them. I notice there are 4 bulbs inside each button, some are missing from my set, some just 2, but most have all 4, I haven't tried to see if they light up yet, so some may or may not be good. Replacement bulbs are now the next step to getting these to work. What are your plans with your set Jerry? I'm sure as with everything you make they will turn out great.

Hi Jerry,

The section that I could use drawings for is the radar and radar gear. I have already purchased the collar but wanted to do the radar myself. I havr a rotozip saw and a local source for the plexiglass, so thats a start. I will be implementing a bubble lifter and like what you designed so that may be a purchased rather than a make part.

Thanks,
Bill Rey

Hi Jerry,

I can assure you that the designs would be for myself only and really appreciate you making them available. I finished the brain section and used LEDs since my B9 will be battery operated. I am now looking at the bubble lifter and like what you implemented on yours. I also plan to have actuators for the arms believe that you had to redo a portion of your lifter in order to accomondate. As an engineer, I am getting this feeling that I am going to have to redesign because I am not thinking about how a subsystem that I am working on affects other subsystems. It is a very complicated design.

I had mentioned now that I am employed again, I wanted to make a vendor purchase, it helps to motivate me when I see new parts for the B9. I have the body from Mike J and was looking to purchase the neon and backplate. I saw your info on powering the 12 row versus the 16 row but noticed that you only sell the 12 row. Is that the most common or accurate one to use?

Thanks again Jerry.

The plans I have designed and drawn up are available on an individual basis for non commercial single use only. I own the copyright on them so if they are for your use only and wont be used in any way for commerical money making use then you are most welcome to them. Lets discuss what you are wanting to do and I can forward what I have if it will suit your needs.

Hi Jerry,

I am new to your site and noticed that you have CAD drawings available and would be released soon, has this happened yet?

I am a former member of Mike's B9 robot builder's club and have just rejoined since I now have time again to dedicate to my robot. I live not too far from you (Garland, Tx) and saw that I missed your robot build off. It looked like it was a blast and I will watch when you have the next one. I am an electrical engineer (recently layed off from Texas Instruments) but fortunately I recently found employment at Rockwell Collins so now I have some extra money to spend on my robot again.

Best Regards,
Bill Rey
