Changes needed for the mice

By Jerry Chevalier

I need to update the top rails for this scale of mouse to the proper size. The greeblies on these mice are for the full size mouse but these mice are scaled for the 85% size droid. So I obtained the sets from Mon-Cal and will be making them. I then need to change the gearing of these Bo-Link race cars becasue they are too fast. They will break someones ankle if they hit someone and I dont want that someone. Also the motor starts to smell like I am burning away the insulation after it has been running for a while so I am working the motor too hard. So I will try to have this done in time for Celebration V.

Mouse Droid Debut at ALLCON

By Jerry Chevalier

dsc03059My Mice made their debut at ALLCON in Dallas Texas this year. They ran around the convention and kept Peter Mayhew company. He seemed to like them so much that he not only autographed them, but he wanted one with him most of the time during the convention to pdsc03060lay with! That was nice!!!

Mouse Design

By Jerry Chevalier

I got the mouse shells from Max Cervantes. The Car frames are from Bolink. I then had a custom sub frame designed to support the various electronics and 10,000mah battery, speakers. High performance motors with a slip differential gear so the motor wouldn’t burn up yet it would give a high rate of speed despite the high weight of the droid. If you notice the little windo in the front of the droid there is a sensor for IR movement and a shock sensor that is tied into the sound chip that makes the usual mouse sounds heard on the Deathstar. The really nice thing about the droid project was that with all of the travelling I would do it was easy for me to take the parts with me and work on them in my hotel rooms when I would come back from the hospital each day.  Of course at times the TSA would wonder what it was that I was building but they always seem to let me on the plane…….hhmmmmm………dsc030411
